The Benefits of Cacao

As a Reiki practitioner, I have always sought natural ways to enhance our body's healing processes and create a balanced life filled with positivity and peace. Cacao heals the Heart Chakra

The heart chakra, located at the centre of the chest, is pivotal in maintaining our emotional health. When balanced, it allows us to give and receive love freely, fostering harmonious relationships and self-acceptance. Cacao, with its rich magnesium content, helps relax the heart muscles and supports cardiovascular health. Its soothing properties can help release emotional blockages, making it easier to open up and experience unconditional love.

Releasing Pain and Anxiety

In our fast-paced lives, stress and anxiety often take a toll on our mental health. Cacao, known for its natural antidepressant properties, contains compounds like phenylethylamine (PEA) and anandamide, which promote the release of endorphins, the body's natural feel-good chemicals. Cacao contains more phenolic antioxidants than most foods. Flavonoids, including catechin, epicatechin, and procyanidins predominate in antioxidant activity. The tricyclic structure of the flavonoids determines antioxidant effects that scavenge reactive oxygen species, chelate Fe2+ and Cu+, inhibit enzymes, and upregulate antioxidant defenses.

Hot Cacao with Positive Affirmations:

● Add approximately 25g of cacao (one big spoonful) to a heated pan.

● Stir in a cup of milk or water (100ml).

● Before it comes to a boil, pour and enjoy.

As you sip your cacao, take a moment to repeat positive affirmations to yourself.

Feel free to add a sprinkle of your favourite spice to enhance the flavour too—cinnamon, chilli, cloves, cayenne, turmeric—the choice is all yours. This warm, comforting drink not only nourishes your body but also uplifts your spirit.
